2. Definitions
In these terms and conditions:
- “We”, “us”, or “our” refers to Tier8 Limited, trading as Lakeway Workshop.
- “You” or “your” refers to the person placing an order or using our website.
- “Products” refers to the goods available for purchase on our website, including personalised solar door signs and any other items we offer.
- “Personalisation” refers to the custom details you provide for your order, such as your house number and/or street name.
3. Orders and Contract Formation
3.1 When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order. All orders are subject to acceptance by us.
3.2 A legally binding contract between you and us is formed when we send you an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to decline any order for any reason.
3.3 Please check your order carefully before submitting it. It is your responsibility to ensure that all details, including personalisation information, are correct at the time of ordering.
3.4 If we are unable to fulfil your order for any reason (for example, if a product is out of stock or there is an error in the price), we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you a full refund.
4. Personalised Products
4.1 Our solar door signs are custom-made to order based on the personalisation details you provide. Each sign is individually manufactured in our workshop to your specifications.
4.2 It is your responsibility to provide accurate personalisation details (such as your house number and/or street name) when placing your order. Please double-check all details before submitting your order, as we will manufacture your sign exactly as specified.
4.3 Once production of your personalised sign has begun, we are unable to make changes to the personalisation details. If you notice an error, please contact us at orders@lakewayworkshop.co.uk as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate changes, but we cannot guarantee this will be possible.
4.4 If your sign is manufactured correctly according to the details you provided but you made an error in those details, this is not considered a fault and is not eligible for a refund. However, we may offer a replacement at a reduced cost at our discretion.
5. Pricing and Payment
5.1 All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT at the current rate.
5.2 We take reasonable care to ensure that prices are correct at the time of publication. However, if we discover an error in the price of a product you have ordered, we will contact you to inform you of the error and give you the option to continue with the order at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.
5.3 Payment is taken at the time you place your order. We accept payment by credit card, debit card, and other payment methods displayed at checkout. All payments are processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe via WooPayments).
5.4 Delivery charges, if applicable, are displayed at checkout before you complete your order and are included in the total amount payable.
6. Delivery
6.1 We deliver to addresses within the United Kingdom only.
6.2 As our products are custom-made to order, please allow up to 5 working days for manufacture, plus delivery time. We will provide estimated delivery timescales in your order confirmation email.
6.3 Orders are shipped via Royal Mail. While we make every effort to deliver within the estimated timescales, delivery dates are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by Royal Mail or circumstances beyond our control.
6.4 Risk of loss or damage to the products passes to you upon delivery. If your order is damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photographs of the damage, and we will arrange a replacement or refund.
6.5 If a delivery cannot be made because no one is available to accept it, Royal Mail will leave a card with instructions for redelivery or collection. If an order is returned to us as undelivered, we will contact you to arrange redelivery. Additional delivery charges may apply.
7. Your Right to Cancel
7.1 Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have the right to cancel an online order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving any reason.
7.2 However, please note that this right to cancel does not apply to goods that are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised (Regulation 28(1)(b)). As our solar door signs are custom-made with your chosen house number and/or street name, they are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right once production has begun.
7.3 If you wish to cancel an order before production has started, please contact us as soon as possible at orders@lakewayworkshop.co.uk. We will do our best to cancel the order and issue a full refund, but we cannot guarantee this if manufacturing has already commenced.
7.4 For any non-personalised products we may offer, the standard 14-day cancellation period applies. To cancel, you must notify us in writing (by email to orders@lakewayworkshop.co.uk) within 14 days of receiving the goods. You must return the item in its original condition, unused and in its original packaging, at your own cost. We will issue a refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.
8. Returns and Refunds
8.1 Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If your product is faulty, not as described, or does not match the personalisation you provided, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
8.2 If you receive a product that is faulty or damaged, please contact us within 30 days of receipt at orders@lakewayworkshop.co.uk with your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs where possible. We will offer a replacement or full refund at your choice.
8.3 If the personalisation on your sign is incorrect due to our error (i.e. it does not match the details you provided at checkout), we will replace the sign at no cost to you.
8.4 If the personalisation is correct according to the details you provided, but you made an error when ordering, this is not considered a fault and we are not obliged to offer a refund or replacement. We may, at our discretion, offer a replacement at a reduced price.
8.5 Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original purchase within 14 days of us agreeing that a refund is due.
9. Product Descriptions and Images
9.1 We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, images, and specifications on our website are accurate. However, colours may vary slightly between your screen and the actual product due to differences in display settings.
9.2 Product images showing house numbers are for illustration purposes only. Your sign will be produced with the personalisation details you provide at checkout.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, product designs, and software, is the property of Tier8 Limited or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any content from our website without our prior written consent.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
11.2 Subject to clause 11.1, our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total price paid by you for that order.
11.3 We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including but not limited to loss of income, profits, or data, arising from or in connection with your use of our website or products.
12. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, pandemic, fire, flood, industrial disputes, postal delays, supply chain disruptions, or government actions.

14. Privacy

15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. The terms and conditions that apply to your order are those in effect at the time you place your order.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
16.1 These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
16.3 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
